Answer:
Becoming a person who can be a benefit to
others is a dream of every human being. Ideally, a person would try his or her
best to contribute to creating a conducive and comfortable environment in his
or her society. However, to provide such situations requires effort from every
society member.
This effort can come from different sources
of learning; parents and school. The first source, parents, is believed to be
an ideal model for others; in this case it is the children. Parents are
supposed to guide their children and monitor their deeds as well as teach them
good things. As to why parents are being understood as ‘teachers’, it is due to
their closeness with their children. Children learn best at home because homes
are the only places they feel relaxed, cared for, and understood.
On the other hand, school, as another
source of learning, has other strong points. School provides an environment of
take-and-give from one to another person. School has almost everything the
children need to learn; the teachers, the friends, the play. Children gather
more information from their surroundings, whether it is a way to share and love
others or a way to discover that to gain respect from others they need to
respect the others, too. Since school is a place where they can get knowledge
and socialize with their friends, many people agree that school has all a
person needs to be a good society member.
In conclusion, both parents and school
have, in fact, their own strengths and weaknesses. However, I tend to support
the opinion which says that parents are the best teachers. Parents are the very
people we encounter the most in our life, and thus, they being a role model for
children to learn is very crucial.
