Before the tsunami hit Japan last Friday, I had no clue of Sendai, Miyagi prefecture, at all. Then, after searching high and low, up and down, I found an article discussing sakura (cherry blossoms) season in the internet (luv ya, internet!).
Apparently, sakura season is different according to the regions, due to its temperature. The earliest sakura blooming is in the southern of Japan, then followed by the upper regions, then the latest is in the northen of Japan.
However, sakura blooming's period is pretty short. It lasts only two weeks after it blooms. Therefore, if you arrive late at a place to view the sakura, don't get discouraged. You can go north to witness the beauty of sakura. Sendai, for instance, is known for having best sakura view.
Below, are the pictures of Sendai sakura I got from a site (click on the pics to see more in the site). For me, these are picturing out the fineness of the sakura.
Enjoy, everyone!
